Aliaxis operations in the Pacific region to be powered by 100% renewable electricity by 2025
ShareShareShareShareShare

Aliaxis SA, a world leader enabling access to water and energy through innovative fluid management solutions, today announced that it has completed contracts, which in combination with on-site solar installations, will ensure all operations in the Pacific region will be powered by 100% renewable electricity by 2025. This is an important step in Aliaxis’ environmental sustainability commitment to use 100% renewable electricity in all its manufacturing operations by 2025.

Aliaxis has realised the goal by implementing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) linked to renewable generation assets with clean energy partners, including CleanCo, and Iberdrola in Australia along with our own onsite renewable energy investments in solar installed on Aliaxis operating sites. These organisations will provide Aliaxis with clean energy generated 100% from renewable sources from 2025, joining New Zealand in the same region which has been operating on 100% renewable electricity since 2021.

Aliaxis operates 17 sites across Australia and New Zealand through its portfolio of businesses which include Vinidex, Philmac, Zest, Yatala Plastics and Rodney Industries in Australia, and Marley, RX Plastics and Dynex in New Zealand.

Eric Olsen, CEO of Aliaxis, comments: “We’ve put sustainability at the heart of our Growth with Purpose strategy to tackle both the climate and water crises. We must act now to cut carbon emissions, and our Pacific region continues to push the needle on sustainability. This is a great step in our overall sustainability commitment to reach our global target of reducing Scope 1+2 CO2 emissions by 75% per tonne of production by 2025.”

Aliaxis Pacific CEO Mark Nykiel says: “We have embarked on an ambitious, yet necessary mission to tackle some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. Not only is the transition of our sites to 100% renewable electricity significant to us internally, but it is also significant to our customers and community stakeholders, who are increasingly looking to Aliaxis to take the lead in reducing the carbon intensity of our products.”
